EMPTY ROADWAYS DUE TO COVID 19!
As most of us are under stay at home orders the roads are eerily empty. This is causing numerous changes in our society. Oil and thus gas prices are falling due to oil reserves going up. Last I heard a barrel of oil is in the $12-$15 dollar price range. Not too long ago it was over $100 a barrel! According to Auto Claims Journal article claims are down by 40-50% for personal auto claims and 30-40% for commercial auto claims! All good news for consumers but bad news for business owners that rely on body shop repairs, tow services, gas sales etc.. However, with fewer cars on the roads police are seeing speeds increase!
What does this mean for you? Well obviously reduced cost for gas if you have to travel. But most auto insurance companies are giving some type of reduced premium credits to your policies because of reduced travel and lower accident volume.
I love all of these positive affects but like you I am getting restless staying home. I am hoping we can all get back to our "normal" lives soon. I hope that we can continue the beneficial trends in lower accident frequency! When we do start driving more again please be aware, do not drive distracted!
If it has been awhile since you have shopped your insurance please give me a call 816-702-8304 or email at blair@rcginsure.com. Most of the companies and I are working remotely so quotes are taking a bit longer.
Stay healthy and hope to hear from you soon!
Have a Great Day
