IT'S ABOUT TIME FOR OUR KIDS TO BACK TO SCHOOL!
What is your house experiencing? New clothes, backpacks, supplies, maybe a new town and school. I know that in our house we are trying to get organized for two going back to college and one back to high school. This is always an exciting time but it can also be stressful. What do they need to get the year off well. Are they prepared to face what the new year will bring? As parents we probably have more stress and concerns than the kids have.
At the beginning of each year I try to refresh our thoughts about safety at school and on the roads. After driving halfway across the country last weekend I want to stress these points even more! One state that we drove through has had 865+ road deaths this year. That's about 110 road deaths a month! What a tragedy.
We all need to buckle up, slow down, and put our phones and other electronics in the glove box/console. Distracted driving is the number one cause of auto accidents! Please, it truly can wait or find a safe place to pull over before you call or text.
Next is to prepare your vehicles. Do the general maintenance, have the brakes tested, check all fluids, tires, lights and fix or replace anything that is borderline. Is the vehicle prepared for the coming weather changes?
How about your auto insurance coverage? When was the last time you reviewed your policy? Are the vehicles still driven by the same person and the same distances to work or school? Are they going to be garaged away from your home at school? Do you have a college student more than 100 miles from home without a car? Do the kids have good grades? All of these can have an effect on your automobile insurance rates.

I will miss having my older two at home. But I am looking forward to the fall weather and the winter sports seasons.
